Since our visit to Interlakes in August our golden Molly has had some serious medical issues. We just got her home from Tufts animal hospital outside of Worcester on Friday after having a pacemaker installed to help with a heart condition. The journey began when we took Molly to Interlakes for a cut in one of her pads. A blood test revealed that there were kidney level concerns. That lead to testing at Capital Area Veterinary Emergency Services in Concord which revealed there was also fluid in Molly's abdomen which is usually related to cardiac issues. Additional testing at Southern New Hampshire Veterinary Referral Hospital in Manchester confirmed that Molly did have cardiac issues and after several weeks of treatment using meds that proved unsuccessful her only other option was to have a pacemaker installed. She's home and doing well but it will take a couple of months of restricted activity until she can do all the things that dogs do.

After a long story I have to come back to Interlakes. If it hadn't been for the thoroughness of the staff in treating Molly's paw in August we might never have known that she had a cardiac issue until she fainted or worse. We thought that the extra blood test they ran was not necessary but it was their thoroughness that probably saved her life. For that we have to say thank you to Interlakes Animal Hospital!
