Default Green Wink

Green Wink was a Sutphen, one of a kind. About the same vintage as the X-Rated before it was the X-Rated. What about the little Allison-Crafts, the guys used to wear helmets when they raced them. It took big ones to drive those boats. Not like moving your living room aross the lake at 75 mph. What about the Maryanne out of Jockey Cove - Old Chris craft with a Hemi and 2 4 barrel carbs, I believe it was in the races. What about the Red Baron near Parker Island, a beautiful v-drive Donzi Hornet. What about the days when you'd see a big boat and anticipate the wake instead of a checkerboard set up like a mogul field on the weekends? What about guys fishing the middle of the lake all day for lake trout instead of bouncing their lures off docks looking for overgrown sunfish? Call me nostalgic but those little fast boats were like riding a roller coaster. Put your hand on the valve over and hang on best you could - and some people got tossed out on occasion. No riding with a drink in your hand unless you wanted to wear it.
Guess what - the lake was and is fabulous but there were things about the past (not just the price of gas) that were better.
