Maybe if Metrocast weren't charging so much, they'd have fewer "dead beats".
In Wolfeboro, the monthly bill for Metrocast "Expanded Basic Service" has increased 25% in just the past 2 years. No matter how the economy is doing, the rate has gone up every year for decades. The result is that for each of the past 2 years, we paid over $100 more for Expanded Basic cable (no premium channels or converter box) than the annual cost of electricity for our household!
As soon as we realized this, we downgraded to Basic service. Maybe when basic service costs more than electricity, we'll get rid of that, too.
I'd love to know who is negotiating those never-ending contracts with Metrocast on our behalf. If I signed up for just a year or 2 of cellular or internet, the rate would be locked in for that term.
