Default Questions about Davis Station

My ancestor John Davis owned a farm on Valley Road in New Durham across Rt 11 from Davis Crossing Road. The original house is still there (He was a revolutionary War Veteran buried on the property). Old maps at the library of congress list this area as "Davis". Aside from my great, great... grandfather I guess there was lots of Davis' in this area. The railroad would have cut right across John Davis' property as does RT 11 today (the state purchased a right of way to build Rt 11 from the current owners who own the same hundred acres as John Davis did!) I have attached a picture purportedly of "Davis Station". I was wondering if anyone knew if this picture is authentic or if they had any information on Davis Station? It may have been a small area to load goods and supplies and drop people off.
