The Scion was a marketing tool for the North America. The Scions were and are all ordinary Toyotas.

Toyota had found out that the age of the average buyer was getting older. Toyota did not want to become the Oldsmobile of Japanese brands.
So the marketing people needed to come up with a plan to bring younger buyers into the Toyota dealerships. The Scion was marketed to younger buyers.
But.
Toyota found out that the majority of buyers of Scion were in fact older people. This Scion marketing tool had failed to bring in all of those younger buyers as planned. So Toyota just dumped the name Scion. Some of the Scions were rebranded as Toyotas.

The CD player is going the way of 8 track and cassette players. This younger generation is using their cell phones and USB sticks for music. And other sources such as satellite radio, Pandora, etc.

Yes, there are still a few new vehicles that have a CD player. But those CD players are slowly disappearing in each new model cycle.

Good Luck.
