I suggest making an appointment with the assessor to go over the error. If it is flagrant and pretty obvious then a friendly conversation should go a ways toward resolution. You still have a bit of time prior to the final tax bill and possibly a correction made.

Once the final bill is out then you would have to wait 'till next March to file for an abatement. The assessor should be able to explain how that works.
