This afternoon, though cool and threatening rain, the lake was flat-calm.
Ideal weather for dock repairs, and under those glowering skies—and a bit late in the day—I decided to get started. This involved about two hours in above-the-knee immersions.
However, the lake was free of boat traffic, which is necessary for successful completion of the repairs, including the use of clamps and glues.
Even more significant—to me—there were no sounds of voice or machinery to take away the quiet ambiance of an afternoon at the lake. From 4:30 onward, the afternoon could've been taken from a thousand years ago.
I had a Loon surface within 15-feet of me, and we just stared at one another. Bird-calls carried across from another Town! In my deep acre of woods,
something I couldn't see sounded angry at me.
Still, it was a "renewal" experience, followed by a nice sunset to finish the day.
During those hours, the
only vessel to come into view as the light dimmed-away, was a kayak at 8:45.
