My wood gets stored in a 12'x10' shed. I have full faith in my supplier, and also know how many rows it takes to store 5 cords. (it is just about 7 rows
)
Your option 2 is the great option..when you have a great relationship with your supplier, it is so nice to pick up the phone in the spring, tell him I need 5 cords of green. A few weeks later, I get a call from him, or see him in town, and he says same price as last year, and I'll probably start next (insert the day). He does two cords one day, two the next, and 1 the third day. I can mail him the check, or if we happen to be there, we hand it to him. No problems either way. Forget a contract...don't even need a handshake...man's word is good enough. Ahh, the good old days!
