I camp at Ellacoya every year for 12 days as do a lot of my friends. We do not want to loose our park for a sailing club..We pay close to $50 a night for a quiet beach and a place for our boat, not to park in a parking lot and a noisy beach. One of the trickier parts of sailing is the proper deployment of the centerboard, or "controlling leeward drift". Even facing into the prevailing winds, a sandy bottom will safely assist in acquiring a proficiency needed to control the direction of every kind of boat.
