Apples and oranges. They pushed for a larger NWZ because of dangers to people on the docks because of the yahoos that wait until they are past the bouys before they slowed down. I was valeting out of there that summer and had to try to restrain my boat from crashing into the docks while getting fuel more than once. In addition, someone was injured because of the wake problem.
The “powers that be” granted the larger NWZ. End of problem.
They sold wake boats then and sell wake boats now. This is an event that might promote sales for them and others on the lake that sell these boats. I, for one don’t care for wake boats but I have not seen anyone operating one that affected me or my activities.
They did not “argue against wakes” they argued for safety at their docks.
