The last time gas prices were near this high the traffic on the lake was greatly reduced, particularly during June and July. August saw average or slightly above average traffic. If gas prices are even higher - $7/gallon - I would expect boat traffic will be considerably lower than the last time.

I am fortunate in that I rarely if ever gas up at one of the gas docks. I mostly buy my gas at one of the local gas stations, filling one or two 14 gallon gas caddies with 87 octane (all my boat requires which saves even more money), and fill up at my dock. While not quite as convenient, I save in costs and can fill up on my schedule and don't have to worry about 'waiting on line'.
