Depends on the officer. I was let off with a warning when stopped with an old sticker. Separately, my wife was not allowed to move her car, a late model Audi in the leafy suburbs. I can't remember if her tears resulted in a tow truck or the absolute jackass of a cop letting her go. Either way--it was traumatic and a lot worse than $60
