I believe SIKSUKR's point is that NH is a tourist economy
year round!! Just like in the summer when it is cold and rainy... the NH boating, restaurant, hotel, etc. businesses suffer... and in the winter when it is warm(er) and rainy... the skiing, restaurant, hotel, etc businesses suffer...
We are very dependent on people coming from out of state to enjoy NH in the winter... and besides, doesn't everyone want a white Christmas?!?!
I do love being able to get back and forth to the island by boat, but I also welcome ice-in and snow (although last year was a little extreme in the snow department)...
