I was 100% sure I saw the “greatest football game ever played” when I was in California visiting friends. I remember the room, my friends, the small black and white TV as well as Ameche into the end zone for the Colts win. I told this story many times over the years. This year, while discussing this again, I realized it was impossible for me to have been in CA in 1958 when the game was played.

I was really stunned about this memory lapse.

Despite my “superb memory” I realized that facts do matter. No matter how much we may wish otherwise.
