Located in Center Harbor in the late 1960's and early 1970's, some wise guy called Belknap College basically a way to avoid getting drafted to serve in the Vietnam War. As I recall, when the Vietnam War and the draft ended, so did Belknap College, so maybe there's some truth to that. I do not know?
Anyway, there's a list of a couple hundred Belknap College graduates, many with New Hampshire addresses.
Up behind Heath's Supermarket, there's a huge victorian house that once was part of Belknap College. It is a wreck! It sits on timbers, awaiting to be moved, and it's been waiting for about 15 years. A huge, old satellite dish hangs from the roof.
