There are still a few snowmobiles zipping by every day (none yet today). The ice is still very safe once you get away from shore. Near islands and rocks is a different story, but generally, ice is safe within a few feet of what you see open. We're talking another month before the ice is gone. The "three weeks to go" indicator by us (open water spreading from some rocks) hasn't triggered yet.
