Default Snowmobiles etc.

The recent post re: the snowmobile reminded me of the Explorer that Mr. Pandelena of Andover MA "lost" and was recovered. While I am not generally inclined to tell anyone how to do their job l have a problem with the man standing in/through the moonroof/sunroof-picture attached.

I also can't say whether or not the picture was taken before or after the cable snapped and it went to the bottom again, leading to salvage effort #2. The diver was called back to hook it up again.

Lousy way to die-probably pinned in the mud upside down with an SUV on top of you in 33 degree water.

As for snowmobiles, I met a diver a few years back who did sled recoveries and told me the State of NH has some regs re: who can recover snowmobiles. They have to be approved by some state agency. Pollution due to fuel is a primary concern. They often use a tripod over a hole cut in the ice and hoist it from there after hooking it up to a lift bag.
