Temperatures at
Black Cat fell to 4 degrees this morning with calm conditions. The lake ice made its usual growth sounds with an occasional loud boom.
Sunrise found a layer of fog which hung around as clouds from tomorrow's snowstorm moved in. Most of the fog was centered over The Broads, probably because of the open water there.
In this photo the fog bank appears behind Six Mile Island on the left and Steamboat Island on the right. A layer of
arctic sea smoke can be seen rising from the open water in the distance.
