"Reading the clouds" Saturday was helpful.
About 11AM, the lowest clouds were heading north, and fast. The next layer of clouds above it were heading
south, also fast. According to "Ballot's Law", flows of clouds at two levels (either opposed, or the same direction) means three hours of nice weather to follow. (If the clouds' paths
cross, the weather will change soon).
The weather stayed very nice until clouding up mid-afternoon—almost "on cue". There was a good crowd of boaters taking advantage of the mid-day sun, too.
