Ha! I'll be more considerate in the future.

I backpacked Yosemite's High Sierra Camps back in '03, and it sounds like that might have been the sweet spot in terms of open country, crowds, etc. With the cancellation of reservations, crowds have been awful these last few weeks.

That being said, we're only spending a few days in the valley (Curry Village) as most of our time will be spent backpacking the Grand Canyon of the Tuolomne, which still requires backcountry permits to keep the crowds down.

We're also early risers—most of America still likes to sleep in, so we'll do the Mist Trail/Glacier Point, etc. long before the crowds accumulate and spend the afternoon chilling in Yosemite Falls Meadow or something while people fight for parking.
