Purchasing a residential tank can be a tad difficult. At least a few years ago.

The advantage is that one can go with any delivery company. But normally, one has to open an account.

One propane person told me that the propane tanks are all leased. That a seperate company owns all residential propane tanks. Not sure if this interpretation is true or not.

Amerigas for me anyway - I had to pay a yearly rental fee.
