My 2 cents below.

I have worked on all sides of property claims. Restoration vendor for 2 years. Liberty Mutual staff adjuster for 1 year (7 managers) and now a public (private) adjuster that is hired by the home owner to handle the claim on their behalf for over 11 years

With that being said get a local agent. A local agent will connect you with a local company such as Andover, Arbella, Concord Group, Norfolk & Dedham, Union Mutual etc. these are all far better companies than any company you see on TV. Yes rates have gone up, so have home values and everything else. This is one area you do not want to cut a corner, god forbid the worst happens.

Your agent will be able to place you with the best company for your property. Some homes on the lake should be with private cliental groups such as AIG, Chubb, Pure etc.

Feel free to reach out of you have any questions. Hopefully no one ever needs to call their company!
