And as I was coming home from the Alton Masonic Breakfast Buffet this morning, I snapped these two pictures of Merrymeeting River and the end of Alton Bay with new ice forming due to the cold temps. Current temp as I type this is 21 degrees, with a low of 17 forecasted. I would expect more ice to form overnight .

The good news: after Monday, the first day of spring by the way, the high temps for the next week will run between 37 and 45 degrees. The bad news: lows are forecasted below freezing each night during the same period.
