Back to the original question. THE 1956 Chris-Craft 17' Sportsman:

If you have a copy of "The Real Runabouts III", by Bob Speltz, on Page 274, there is a picture and specs for that boat...and all the other Runabouts and Utilitys offered by Chris-Craft in 1956. The Sportsman was considered a "Utility".
