I personally saw numerous small skiffs, sunfish, kayakers and canoes that were far out in the lake on days where they should have stayed near shore. On two occasions we rescued people on flipped over sunfish and lasers on extremely rough, windy days near Diamond. They had no right being there...For their own safety that is. Sailboaters are not invincible!
What does weather conditions and the fact that some people take their non-power boats out in conditions that aren't safe have to do with the proposed speed limit bill? I own a sea kayak and boats traveling at excessive speeds have kept me off the lake way more than the winds/waves have.
