Interesting. I am planning on retirement. My HOA will not allow short term lease. I am looking for an HOA that will allow me to lease for 3 or 4 months so that I may enjoy winter in CO and FL.

What I find about leasing is once you advertised, you cannot turn down a request from someone under 55 even if your association is 55+. There was a case a section 8 family was living in a 55+ community and the HOA tried to void the lease as the family cause all kinds of problems. Seems like HUD carries a huge weight in court. The family was able to stay for the duration of the lease and beyond.
