And if you are going to put a boat up for consignment, you have the most leverage to get a good rate with the guy selling you a consignment boat.

Oh we'll be there, one way or the other, and you know how much work I put into my older boat.

Heck, we had a all brand new canvas and a camper back put on at the end of last year, and we only used it for one weekend before we pulled it out of the water.
I already have a deposit on the 'new' one, and waiting the survey and trials.
It's just that I have no room for a boat at home and also I don't have a trailer for it. So I would have to pay, pay, pay (pay to have it shipped to my home, and/or pay to have it stored again if it doesn't sell).
I worked out a deal so no summer storage fees while the boat is for sale. As you mentioned, this is a consignment deal, so they won't take my boat in trade. If you know anyone that wants a good starter, weekend (older) 27 ft boat, let me know. I'll pay a finders fee.
