I’ve had a situation where I could not plow a customer’s driveway. We only got about 2 inches of snow so they did not want it plowed, then a warm day then freezing cold nights followed. I asked if they wanted me to sand it after it froze and they declined. 3 days later we got about 6” of snow and I could not get my truck up the driveway to plow it.
They had to find someone with a snow blower to remove the snow then they sanded it.
It cost them more in the end then if they had it plowed originally.
I usually don’t go out for 2 inches unless requested. But I always watch the temps to see what will happen if the snow is left unchecked. If I see what I believe will be a situation, I make a call and ask how they want to proceed.
Sometimes your damned if you do damned if you don’t.
I still take care of snow removal for the person mentioned above and they are very happy with the work.
