I just dilute it enough so that I can spread it with a paint brush.
I use a regular car orbital buffer. But make sure you use a 'cutting' pad rather than the normal buffing pad. If the cutting pad gets clogged I just run a screwdriver through the pad and 'fluff it' up.

BTW. Did anyone use 'Australian Timber oil' by Cabot Stain on teak platforms and decks? I like to try it but need opinons.
