If you have a Verizon smartphone (Incredible or X) as far as I know you can use your phone as a modem, connect with the USB cord that you charge with, and connect it to your laptop and get on the internet that way. You can get unlimited data on your phone for $30.00 and use it instead of an air card. But.... you should ask a kid at a Verizon store. They love to let you know how smart they are.
I have never had a problem with my Verizon cellphone in Moultonboro. Borrow a friend's phone and check from the island before purchasing or signing a contract.
