I have been checking the web cams at Downings Landing every day to see how much ice is out prefatory to April 1st (opening day of the salmon season). Just now I spotted this thing sitting on one of the poles. It sure looks like a big owl, but it's broad daylight and the animal hasn't moved a muscle.
