I don't recall seeing that, but I wasn't paying attention as I was primarily waiting for Winnipesaukee scenes.

Amazon has two books: The Color of Water: A Black Man's Tribute to His White Mother and The Color of Water (The Story of Life on the Golden Fields). This film was neither of those two books. One of these books may have been the reason for changing the title on the DVD.

Neither Winnipesaukee nor New Hampshire are ever mentioned. This movie could have taken place at/near any lake. Even the movie's opening scene, showing the skyline of a city, is not referenced. I only knew it was Boston because I saw the Citgo sign in Kenmore Square.
