I once had a "clear" lobster roll near China Lake, Maine. There's a stand on route 3 that allows you to choose if you want mayo or butter on your lobster. I can't find the name of the place, but it looks like it's also referred to as Connecticut style.
We had no idea what clear meant, so it was a bit of a surprise when they came out with butter and I discovered that I prefer mayo to butter for lobster rolls!
