Some good friends of mine live up that way and they have trouble getting cell phone calls at home. Of course, cell service is something that can change for the better in time.
There's some neat history up that way and it was considered the 'wild' side of town back in the day (read: late 1800's). If memory serves me, the annual town meeting was held during "mud season" in Alton with hopes that the folks on Alton Mt Rd wouldn't be able to make it. I guess they were the trouble makers in town. (Some were also my family - I have some DNA underground in a family cemetery on that road...)
