5000 gallons of water weighs 40,000 pounds..@ 8 pounds/gallon. That's a pretty big boat. Probably not many boats on the lake that weigh/displace that much. A 32 foot
"Leadmine" keel sailboat
might weigh/displace 15,000 pounds. The 32 foot sailboat I had years ago weighed/displaced 10,800 pounds. 50% of that was the lead keel.
