In the spring, as soon as we have ice out, the system is turned on. Usually early April. Drain the system beginning Columbus Day weekend. We’ve come back as late as Thanksgiving and fired up...

Be wary of pex

Rodents (mice and red squirrels) will eat it. Better to stay old school with copper in a seasonal home.

I’m also a diver and use a slightly different mix to address ear infections: 1/3 white vinegar, 1/3 alcohol and 1/3 baby oil. The alcohol will dry the skin so the baby oil helps with that.

Deep cycle battery?

I didn’t think you were supposed to use a deep cycle battery as your starter battery. Just for the “house” battery on boats with a separate battery to power accessories when the engine is off. I...

Who has the Right Of Way

I read a post on another Winnipesaukee forum where the writer was describing how he was towing a skier this past weekend and another boat coming from his right did not give way to him and he even...

We installed a heat pump last fall — really to replace a 20 year old direct vent kerosene heater — but I now have a/c too! There are days when this will be really nice!

The outcome....

Well I tried to call the post office several times over several hours and no one ever picked up after I selected “option 1” for delivery issues. Sheesh.

So, I had some errands to run anyway so I...

Lake Cams

Rattlesnakecam.com is a great resource for seeing different areas of the lake. It includes the Islanders2002 webcam on Bear that looks south towards Shep Browns that Bear Islander references.
