I have used Allied Clearwater and found them to be very good. However, I really wonder about all the salt I use over the course of the year (I figure it is between 6-8 40lb bags for 8 months of use.)...

Any sail boat is a good boat for our lake

I have a J-22, circa 1985, that I bought used in 2010 from a guy on the Cape. I thought it would be the perfect size for our lake and damn if it didn't turn out to be so. I can sail off the mooring...

Piccolo Market

It's not wood fired but in my humble opinion Piccolo's in Moultonborough is one of the best pizza places anywhere in lake country. They use the best ingredients. The real test of a good pie is if it...

Just got 250 gallons today at $1.82/gallon. Not part of a buying coop but have threaten to join one if Eastern did not come down on their price. While not the lowest price around, I don't want to go...

old site and graphs far more useful than new one

I am disappointed that DES has changed the water level graphs. The new graphs are rather useless not providing historical perspective, annual rainfall totals to date, etc. Please return to the old...

Propane prices this winter

Curious what people are paying for bulk propane purchases this winter. We use about 850 gallons over the 5 heating months. I did not sign up for prepay this year but wondered how the proliferation of...

I think it was my previous post

I had posted last year that I found an agent particularly helpful and not pushy. I ultimately went with his recommendation and was very satisfied. He proactively contacted me in September suggesting...

GBR contracting

I highly recommend Carl Smith and GBR contracting of Meredith. They redid my roof after premature failure of previous "organic" shingles. Carl and his crew followed through on every promise and did a...

Support the LWA!

Glad to see a healthy discussion about lake water quality and contributing factors (lawns, erosion runoff, faulty septic etc.). Twenty years from now I hope we are not looking back to 2020 and saying...

Why 200 less voting on Article 5? no brainer

There were far less people voting on article 5 because the vote came late - literally 2 plus hours after the start of the meeting. Many of us did not feel comfortable being inside (mask and all) for...

my take on best pizza

I love and patronize WB for steak tips and key west chicken. Simply the best if a bit overpriced.
However, I believe Piccolos in Moultonborough has hands down the best pizza in the area. Again, a...

Could not agree more with previous comment. Electing Darcy, Dwyer and Portu will help move the NHEC to help allow much needed broadband competition in our service area. This is an important economic...
