My seasonal dock in Alton is taxed. 6'x40' at $5,400. Which one is an oversight - yours or mine? If mine, I need to get to the tax assessor and get it changed!

But they saved the buffalo!

It really depends on how big the confined area is, I guess... Over west of Sunapee in Croydon area, there is a 25,000+ acre (!) fenced ranch owned privately called Corbin Park. Lots of room for...

Actually, HH60 Pave Hawk

Those are actually HH-60 Pave Hawk - you can tell by the refueling boom. They are used by USAF special forces, primarily PJ's for personnel recovery in hostile combat zones. There used to be a...

Question No Lake Drawdown This Year?

Am surprised how high the lake level still is this year, and how little the Lakeport Dam is letting out. We're almost a foot above the average level for this time of year. Anyone have any info on...

Swimming red squirrel

We have also noticed a lot more grey squirrels this year, but yesterday on the dock we saw something new. We were looking out from our dock (Rattlesnake facing Sleepers/Treasure), and saw something...

The whole house humidifier is for the winter when the heater raises the temperature and drops the relative humidity - doesn't do anything to help with damp basement air, and if anything could make it...

Thumbs up Great place!

When we were walking around Wolfeboro a few weeks ago, we decided to stop in at the Lakeside Coffee Shop for gelato instead of our usual ice cream walk-up window. So glad we did! The homemade...

Great, thanks Descant. If she has the info and it seems like there's capacity, she has my email and can forward. Otherwise, there are a few interested people that have come up from this thread.

Ebay

If you search ebay, you can get some good options. I got 2 snap on cushions that look great in white vinyl. They have held up very well, and much much less expensive than from the dealer.

Yes, actually in the summer we'll see three boats sometimes respond to a call, and Wolfeboro gets there before Alton, and around the same time as Gilford. The Alton FD seems very opposed to keeping...
