Speaking of airboats

The relatives of Mark O'Connell, one of the three people that died two years ago after their snowmobile went through the ice, formed a foundation to improve safety on Lake Winnipesaukee. A...

As long as this thread has gone loony, its worth pointing out that the natural habitat for loons is moving north. There aren't many loons in MA and CT any more and the population was declining in NH...

Low Wake anyone?

We could use a low wake zone to go with the no wake zone. The no wake signs seem silly in some spots, but spot on in others. A no wake should mean it, but allowing up to 6mph in a low wake zone...

About 30% of the MSC members join the club when they register their sleds at DaSilva, Skelley's or Heath's Hardware. The biggest activity at agents is seen over the year-end holiday and during...

MSC appreciates its member's support

The best approach is to join the club where you will ride the most. Your primary club dues include a $10 membership fee to NHSA. You can join any number of clubs with a secondary membership. That...

Leave them outside

Here's another vote for keeping them outside over the winter. I used to carry them into the basement each winter and one year was too lazy to do it. No problem. There are a few spiders inside once...

Dusting

Here's a pic from about 7AM. Didn't last long. In the past, snow in October has been followed by a poor snow year. Maybe this year will be different.

Shallow in Moultonborough Bay Inlet

Please check the marker in the middle part of Moultonborough Bay Inlet. I passed to the west of the red marker this summer and barely missed hitting a shoal of rocks. I suspect the marker moved to...

Head-on "right-of-way"

While considering the question of right of way, how is this situation handled. You are coming on another boat head on in a constricted area, each is on the other's port side. There is no danger of...

Vote Tally

Here's a chart of the guesses for 2018. By the "wisdom of the crowd" method, April 22'nd is the chosen day. We'll see. Note: due to lazy data entry, none of the March votes were included.
