It has been totally remodeled from the studs out. Over the last year or so, a tavern was added in the west end of the building.

Alton Public docks

Dock at the Alton Public Docks and then walk over to the Dockside restaurant. About a 5 minute walk or so.

Bonus: Stop at Stillwell's for ice cream on the way back to the boat.

No floating line

FLL, bad advice. The last thing you want over the winter is floating line. The line / cable needs to lie on the bottom and be secured to something on land.

Run a line

Run a line from the connector(s) to the rest to the shore and tie it off. In the spring, follow the line out to where the rest anchors. I have friends who have done this for years.
