The lake isn't some swimming pool which you can chlorinate if you don't like the look of the water. It is a living, natural thing that has to be treated responsibly.

You can't get rid of it. You have to prevent it...

You can't get rid of it. You have to prevent it in the first place. Go look at the NHDES links above. Anything you use to"kill" the bacteria will release toxins which is worse. Don't add anything...
