A 4000 lb, low drag toon with 700 hp sounds like a recipe for a spilled margarita. They should just cut to the chase and put a turbine on it.

oy

You can see where this is going from a mile away. Two years from now we'll be looking at a drone layer on the Bizer map.

At the moment it's a novelty, but $1k is a pretty small entry fee for this...

exactly

As mentioned earlier, it's easier all the way around if you just keep 150'. It used to be fun riding my Ducati between cars in and out of lanes. That doesn't make is smart or considerate.

hate to be a buzzkill

I was looking through the MP incident database and saw one where a PWC ran up over the stern of a boat it was following when it didn't notice it had stopped. Injured a passenger on the boat.

anchoring

First, get yourself a second anchor. Everyone anchors their bow, then stern to keep from swinging around in tight quarters.

When you come in, make sure you pick a spot 25' from all other boats. ...

Making lemonade.

That part of Winter harbor is a great place to tube. Clear 1000' from shore headway zones. I generally don't like tossing people around with wake, so not having a bunch of boats anchored there is a...

Time to get rid of this regulation

All it does is take rights to a public resource away from boaters and give it to a small subset of landowners. It doesn't even effectively address the purported reasons for it's existence--all it...

New yammies

I know this is from last year, but wanted to see if anyone has seen the new yamahas. I'm looking at the 24 footers. Looks like they've fixed the low freeboard, noise and handling issues.

Channel circa 2008

With Crownline and Bennington, all Winnisquam needs is a NASWA across the bridge and they'll be Channel before the recession.

you're right

There's nothing out there that erodes like a good wind out of the NW and the lake has managed to deal with it for eons.

That having been said, I'll be submitting a no wake petition for the entire...

It's about the financing

I was looking at some boats this summer and noticed that the monthly payment estimates were all based on 5.5% over 20 years. With that kind of financing, you can get into a 50k boat for less than...

I got passed immediately after Governors bridge by a boat doing 2-3x wake weaving it's way between a paddleboarder and me.

Yesterday was very confusing. It was like all of the New Yorkers were...

No respect

I was out today and can only say that it was like the boat scene from Caddyshack. People all over the place, jumping wakes, sinking sloops. It was like everybody was in a huge hurry to get wherever...

I'm looking to put a few more days in before I call it quits.

Also thinking about joining a friend on a mid-October pub crawl around the lake. Should be nice and chilly for the DD. Everyone else...

I was not aware of that rule in a no-rafting zone. Nice to have learned something new before noon. Now I can take the day off.

orange buoy question

We were over at the sandbar by Sleepers yesterday and noticed several orange buoys close to shore. They've always been there, but I've never thought much of them. Does anyone know if they have any...

Sounds like both of those guys had a great day out on the lake.

business opportunity

Probably lots of demand. You could hold group lessons, then offer 1:1 training. Also, you could get a little yellow sign for the boat that says "Student Captain" so the rest of us know to watch out.
