that's what they should do for next year's winni derby. instead of targeting salmon, go after the rock bass. the salmon need a break and the rock bass need culling.

make sure you run at least a 50ft. fluorocarbon leader (i prefer 6 lb test) on your lead core rigs. flies were hot for us yesterday at 5 colors, riggers have had the most action at around 22-28 ft...

landed 1 small laker and a fat 19" salmon, both hit a copper mini mooselook at 16'. the 3rd fish, that pulled the hook, hit an aqua colored/orange back guide special at 19'.

i fished saturday, had 3 hits/2 fish. lost a heavy fish, never saw it. but all hits came between 15 and 20 ft down on the riggers, all on spoons. not a touch on the leadcore/flies.

same here. July and August are my 2 favorite...

same here. July and August are my 2 favorite months to salmon fish. definitely the most productive. very slow out there right now but it should pick up in about a month or so once the thermocline...
