tritoons

We have a 24 Bennington and love it. Had it since 2001. Tritoons give you much more capacity and better nose-diving/deck-swamping protection when everyone seems to be sitting at the bow area. They...

Dish vs Direct

Lakesrider is correct that your costs rack up pretty quickly so you need to compare apples to apples to see if you will really save money for the services you want. As far as Dish vs. Direct TV...

Great weekend coming!

Forecast shows high 70's for Laconia for Saturday. While leeward side of the lake will be cooler with off-water breeze (water still cold), it should be a nice weekend to soak up some vitamin-D...

New Meredith dock idea

I know there are a lot of docks at Meredith already, though often not enough. While driving by the new Hannafords it occurred to me that there's a lot of unused shoreline almost across the street...

submersible pump

Yes, we keep our pump in the water year round and have had no problems. We also have a thermostatically controlled heater wire inside our waterline going to the lake (which is ony about 6"-12"...

Must have for boaters

I recommend these types of PFD for anyone ownting a boat for one key reason.... It can be work any time without being cumbersome or interfering with movement and inflates instantly when you enter...

Angry Sad

And as I've said in the past on other Ames thread, having a private funded resource like Ames is priceless. If the Gov't were to try to do something like that operation, it would COST taxpayers a...

Exclamation Careful out there!

Nice to have an early ice-out, but be very careful as the water temp is only 38 degrees. Falling in would result in only minutes to survive. We always wear PFD's while boating until the water temp...

Lots of fires in Alton

Seems like a very fire-prone area. That makes at least 4 major fires around that end of the bay.....3 in the last 10 years.

well pump

Many people use a regular submersed well pump. No priming needed, just flip the switch at the start of each season and instant water.

gonna be a problem

Went by there yesterday (off season Friday) at about 2 PM and the parking lot was nearly full!

What is needed is a diverter road from Rt. 25 to Rt. 3 somewhere up the hill from the High School.

needs more than paving

Rt-109 needs a lot more than just paving. This needs to be redone with a proper bed and drainage. I'm betting it's just old-school asphalt over leveled dirt.

If you need to share the ramp with the masses on the weekends, then the flexibility, eliminated waiting, and reduced stress of a dock might be worth it. If you can launch during the weekdays, then...
