Play & Pay!
This is an excellent opportunity for the 'average Joe' to financially express his opinion. Now, if we could only have local, state, and federal fees/taxes work the same way!

Give the kids a bucket of water, some sponges, and can of Ajax powder. Works great; and it helps to raise the lake ph. :D

Frosty Bubbles
I have my bubbler set up to run on a thermostat; on/off at 35/45. Ice formation is temperature dependent. I'll turn the whole gizmo on the first weekend in December and off the last weekend in...

Pros & Cons
Feb,
I think a bubbler would work fine in two feet of water. They are so damn cheap to run, you can't afford not to use it! It costs me about $25 to run a 6 cfm compressor for the entire ice season....

My Favorite Subject
Yo Feb,
Both circulator and bubbler work well. But, bubbler is MUCH cheaper to run; bubbler has higher set up costs. I went the bubbler route and defend its application ...... while fully respecting...

I'm in Alton.
Does any one here have any concerns that water front/view property valuations might be perhaps a little on the high side for out-of-staters and, conversly, perhaps a little on the...

High performance 2-stroke engines , like those found in PWCs, are very prone to failure. Spinning around at 6K rpm will bring nothing but trouble. PWCs are not like boats; a well maintained boat...

Expensive Hole in the Ground
Using drilled 6" wells is a necessary evil for those without waterfront property ..... wells are the only way .... at about $6K each. Dropping a couple 1" polyethelyne lines into the lake would be...

Has anyone seen the 'mini-mount' this year? Its strange to not see it berthed in Wolfeboro, or out cruising the lake. I heard someone indicate that it was never launced this year due to its poor...

Where is everybody?
I think boat traffic is light ..... perhaps due to expensive gas or poor weather/water levels. In general, I think this is showing to be a challanging tourist season, economically speaking.

Cheap Bubbles!
Thanks for the input, APS. For what its worth, I guess the bubbler method is roughly 1/2 the cost to run. I'm glad I made the right decision .... it doesn't happen very often!

Clever engineer ....
Glad to help. Being a thrifty hard-core engineer has its benefits. I hope others can see the savings of a linear compressor vs a 1/2 hp circulator.
Interestingly, the bubbler method is not...
