Orioles
Yesterday afternoon I heard what I thought was the call of an Oriole, so I mixed up some nectar and put out my feeder. Early this morning I looked out and there he was in all his glory. He flitted over to the suet for a taste and then he was gone. Welcome back old friends!

?
You would think they would be more concerned with climbing out of the cellar in the American League East than a side trip to the lake.

I saw an Oriole in Wayland Ma today. Pretty birds for sure.

Harbingers
I never have been very good at identifying birds...wish I had your acumen, Chickie. I do remember being happy just seeing the robins come back!! All the harbingers of spring are so prized, after the long winter!

Orioles? Where?
For some reason, I never hear—or see—Orioles until September.
This year, this area is especially inundated with the songsters, "Tufted Titmice". ("Titmouses"). :emb: |
