Help with outside projects

Three years ago I built my home on the lake, and am only now getting to the outside landscaping projects. I am looking for someone to help with the following:

(1) Landscaping and bringing in a couple of large boulders to compliment what is already there

(2) Leveling an area and building stairs with railroad ties or other non-permanent materials

(3) Designing a parking area in the front of my cottage with some natural material. I want to soften that look with shrubs and perennials surrounding the parking area.

I need ideas of what will work best for the location, keeping in mind I want all of this to be designed "naturally" and to blend in with the wooded feel to the location and lake, and, of course, low maintenance!

Do I need different contractors or does anyone do all three?

Thanks for any suggestions you have.

D

Outdoor Property Sevices

Give Jon Gammons of Outdoor Property Services a call:

Office - (603) 524-8439
Mobile - (603) 520-0226

Our builder recommended Jon for post-construction landscape work -- very reasonable and responsive, all with exceptional quality. He even recommended ground tree stumps for the low/no maintenance option. Worked well, is cheap, state loves it and the comments from guests were positive.

I also believe that A Cut Above (a member of the Forum) does this kind of work too.

Both serve the Meredith area

I live in Gilford - don't know if that makes a difference.

From the references so far, I think my job may be too small for them, but I will contact them anyway. If anyone knows some local smaller businesses, I'd like to contact them as well.

Thanks.

Hi-

You responded to a thread a while back in regards to perched beaches. Do you construct or have you constructed any?

A perched beach has a beach sand area that does not actually touch the water.Usually a stone wall is constructed into the water and the sand is behind the wall.No lake water runs up on the "beach".

Ken,

Will you be at the Forum Fest on Saturday? If so, I'll speak with you then; otherwise I'll give you a call. Thank you.

Donna

Make sure you get more than one quote for the work. We found Miracle Farms' quote extremely high.

I have constructed many stone walls. But no I have not done a full perched beach. All that it is really is 2 walls one at water level and one behind the beach area. I have reset stone on a couple of them that were done improperly tho.
I can also help with obtaining the necessary permits for projects that do require them.

callmeD,
I am not sure if I will make it or not to the FF. I have a bunch of kitchen cabinets to hang this weekend. But please do not hesitate to call me, if I can not be of help atleast I can steer you in the right direction.
