Rossi's Rt. 104 just off I93 in New Hampton

We had dinner there last night and this must be the best kept secret in the lakes region. I must admit we drove past for years but about 10 years ago stopped by and it has become a favorite. The Italian specials rival Boston's north side and for quite a while I have even looked at a menu just get what sounds right from the specials list.

Last night I broke my trend and ordered the prime rib special while my wife had one of the Italian specials. My prime was as good as I have ever eaten and my wife's was as expected, excellant.

Margo is the owner and she oversees the dining room and the kitchen. Salads are always crisp. The Italian dressing is made on site and Margo will sell you some to take home. I usually order the blue cheese dressing and a quart of the house special to take home. We didn't have time for dessert last night but they too have always been good.

The curb appeal is less than many places but food and service is great. I have eaten all over the world and Rossi's ranks real high for value in my book.

Snowmobile trails to Rossi's

There are several snow mobile trails that lead to Rossi's Italian Ristorante. The easiest is from Meredith. The trail from Newfound is a bit difficult and you need to know where your going. Rossi's has been there with the same owners since 1983!!

Cool

Thanks for the info Old Hubbard. You are a wealth of information. How's the sledding up there? I have to make it back to Rossi's soon. Every time I see a post about them it is extremely positive!!! Kudos to them.

NBR....you are so right.....If you go way back in the Winni archives you will see that I have RAVED about this place for years.Nobody really knows about it.It is family run and Margo (the matriarch) runs the dinning room with motherly love while her husband and sons oversee the kitchen.Made from scratch, old country cooking that puts all the others to shame. My only complaint is her prices are TOO LOW. The wonderful lasagne has been $9.95 for the last 10 years.Wifey always orders the chicken marsla and says it is better than any she has had in her life. It's a little out of the way but worth the trip.Very relaxed and casual. Most nights they have a real wood fire (not gas) in the dining room

I have driven by it for several years now but it never looked open and I always wondered about it.

I love Chicken Marsala and will definitely stop in soon. Thanks for the tip!

They are open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday. I am not sure what time they open nor do I know if they are open for lunch on Saturday or Sunday.

I used to work the late shift right around the corner. Had a to-go menu and can't find it. Anyway, their food and service was always fantastic!! :liplick:

We dropped by last Saturday. We had a terrific waitress and sat right by the fireplace. Our three chatty (and loud) adult children were with us. I had the feeling that most of the clients were regulars and the staff treated them like family.

The Chicken Marsala was quite good...(I wish there was more of it) the Chicken Parmesan and Shrimp Scampi were enjoyed by the kids. I saw many pizzas go by our table while we were eating and would really like to go back and try one.

Thanks for the tip!

Another Great Meal

We visited Rossi's during Memorial Day Weekend and were not disappointed. The fried calamari appetizer was cooked perfectly with a light batter. I had the special stuffed sole and my wife had the veal cannelloni florentine. Both dishes were amazing, and cooked just right. The prices remain very reasonable and the service was its usual friendly and attentive. Kudos to the Rossi Family!

Two Thumbs Up for Rossi's

I have to agree with Moose Tracks. We too recently had Rossi's calamari appetizer. The batter was light and crisp, with a nice side of marinara. It's is just a great all around place for a meal, or just pizza and a salad. We have never had a bad meal. And as always, the owner Margo, is at work with her apron on. That speaks volumes about the place !
