I saw this photo by our webmaster dated 10/26/05 with a really full lake.

If any of you shutterbugs up there happen by this spot, I think it would be fun to see the low lake vs. this high lake.

Thanks WBB. Only having seen the Lake in July and early August, I never knew what the low lake looks like. Some of the other low water shots (someone referred them as speed bumps) are great too, but unfamiliar areas require the before/after visuals.

Thanks wires1999 for the high-water link. The Lake when it is REALLY full is impressive. I remember 1 summer I came out to the island "Leave-no-wake" rule was over the whole lake. That was a really long ride from Gilford.

Probably a lot of Forum readers will remember the early summer (including the July 4th weekend) of 1998 when the entire Lake was posted "No Wake".

There happened to be a bass fishing tournament going on and the fishermen were straining to keep those big engines on those small boats under the speed for "No Wake". Can you imagine the frustration of not being able to use the full 175 hp hanging out the back end of a 17' bass boat !! My my.

Here's a picture from June of 1998 during the lake-wide no-wake zone. You can see that the docks at Harilla Landing were completely submerged.

Last year our dock's were under water at this time and we had trash cans full of water holding them down. Amazing how much difference a year makes.

I believe that was two years ago in 2005. Time does fly!

Last year the lake was very high in the spring.
