New Alternative Boat Registration Fees

It seems that more NH state legislators are looking for ways to increase the state coffers. It seems that a group of lawmakers led by Sen. Frank Pierce of Cumberland County wants to have registration fees in accordance with : 1). the value of the boat (and motor if an outboard) as determined by Kelly Blue Books for Boats; and 2). an added factor for boats capable of speeds higher than the proposed 45 MPH speed limit. Speed will be determined utilizing commonly accepted formulas currently adopted by insurance companies, which take into consideration the length, horsepower, and weight (gross weight of boat).

The higher the value of the boat and the faster the boat is (over 45 MPH), the more it will cost to register it here in NH.

The additional money will be spread proportionally between the Marine Patrol and the Department of Fish & Game (search and rescue costs), and will allow the Marine Patrol to purchase hi-tech speed monitoring devices and train personnel in their use.

The bill has been introduced into the Senate as a proposed senate law. The link to the full text of S100F is : Click_Here

Well since our boat registration is based on length and our boat fee is based on value, as determined a complicated table which includes age, length and horsepower, this really wouldn't be that hard to believe.

Considering Frank Pierce's political background I'd expect this from him.

need a map and well as a calender

NH has neither a Cumberland county nor a Frank Pierce as a senator but all joking aside the clowns in Concord will pass higher taxes for all before they leave for the summer.
